create opportunities for their group to connect, feel supported and engage with one another
are in tune with the effects of anxiety, bullying and academic achievements and put steps in place to help pupils at risk

The Special Role of Deputy Principal
Deputy principal - has to be the toughest role in the school, eh?
Deputy PrincipalsâŠ
Liaise with staff on important matters and report findings to the principal.
Have their ear to the ground when it comes to all things ISM.
Connect with pupils, teach (generally) and still remain on task with teachers, SNAs, the Principal, secretary etc come knocking.
Deal with issues arising within the school.

Weâve all been there - that fear that hits when you go out of an interview âI forgot to tell them Xâ or âI messed up the question about Yâ or âI wasn't expecting that question on Zâ.
